Prior to a stint in the Marine Corps, he was employed as a draftsman before transitioning to graphic arts in 1981. He served as coordinator of three annual national educational conferences for the Association of African Historians while employed at Northeastern Illinois University’s Center for Inner City Studies.

He has also been a guest speaker in many correctional facilities in Illinois and Michigan since 1991. His expertise is in translating scientific data into understandable materials for the general public using non -traditional methods.

 In July 1994, He incorporated a trade interest and completed a two-week trade mission to South Africa three months following Nelson Mandela’s victory. He is also the author and publisher of several health-related publications – preventative health, male mentoring and anti recidivism. His latest publication YOUR BOOK HIS LIFE, is a self – published textbook for raising Black young men from ages 6 to 25 (and beyond) in its second edition. He is the father of a daughter and 3 sons, all conscious, successful & aged over 40.
